Introduction

As dental professionals, we understand the importance of collaboration and communication in delivering exceptional patient care. At PD Ceramics Ltd, we are committed to continuously improving our services to better serve you and your patients. Of late you may have noticed that we have shown you how we are making improvements that secure our alignment with a different future varying from a focus on internal improvements and development, sustainability, lean manufacturing and becoming a strong Guaranteed Irish provider. We have also strongly promoted the need to protect our industry and the profession and craftsmanship of dental technicians, in particular through investment in education. Supports from local Irish business resources such as Mentors Work, Small Firms Association, Guaranteed Irish and with our Local Enterprise Office, Galway have opened up fantastic networking, mentorship and growth benefits for us a dental manufacturing company located in Co. Galway. We have celebrated our successes as a team and are very proud that with each step we are learning to do more and give back better to you, our customers.

Now we want to narrow the lens and focus on you more as customers, and the valuable feedback we need to gather from you is critical so we can resource our facility for a stronger future working together. This feedback is invaluable in helping us achieve this goal.

Challenges Faced by Dentists:

We have examined all of the previous comments and feedback from our customers in the marketplace and at times we have just not received any back. The key areas that dentists find as challenges when providing feedback to dental laboratories and working with them are as follows:

  1. Time Constraints: We know that dentists often have busy schedules, making it challenging to allocate time for providing feedback on dental lab services. They have highlighted their needs to get work back on time and this has been the reason they use local laboratories for certain work, but we need to understand this in more detail.
  1. Communication Barriers: Miscommunication or lack of clarity in conveying feedback can hinder the effectiveness of the dental lab-dentist collaboration. Some customers like to use an email, or WhatsApp to communicate, while others like to speak directly to the dental technician working on their case regularly. This is extremely valuable for complex case management and high-aesthetic demand cases. Capturing how you as a customer would prefer to work with us is something we need to record and focus on moving forward and prioritise for review regularly.
  1. Prioritisation: With numerous tasks and responsibilities, providing feedback on dental laboratory services may not always be a top priority for dentists, but those customers that do give feedback really help us. Some feedback is based solely on recognising improvements in service delivery and especially about the quality of the products and outcomes that they have benefitted for their own customers, dental patients. Complaints are common place in most industries, so we welcome them too. Your feedback, be it positive or negative is what matters most and based on this we can make improvements and take action that matters to you.

The Importance of Feedback:

Feedback plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of our dental laboratory services at PD Ceramics Ltd. By sharing your thoughts, experiences, and suggestions, you can help us to understand your needs and preferences better, ultimately leading to improved outcomes for you and your patients. If we don’t have these vital insights from you, our valued customers, we cannot improve our offerings. When our dental technicians understand our clients needs they can focus their attention on giving dedicated time and attention to the outcomes they desire.

Since January 2022, we made a concerted effort to change the way we work within the laboratory itself to improve the teams working lives post Covid-19 and to align with the values of a healthy workplace. We hit a few bumps along the way as we faced continuing challenges from Covid during 2022. We ebbed and flowed with the impact of challenges in supply change and finding the right team members who aligned with the vision of the business during 2022 and 2023 as the landscape for employees met their changing needs for flexibility in the workplace.

Now, as we head towards the second quarter of 2024, we are ready to address our customer challenges and bring more to our collaborations and examine things closer.
